What can I do in this section?

If you work through all the sections and complete the activities in Part 1, you should have:

  • developed an awareness of the conventions of academic writing;

  • examined the criteria tutors use for marking student essays;

  • identified your primary learning goals;

  • analysed how your time is spent and planned a study schedule for yourself;

  • identified a number of time management strategies that will work for you;

  • listened to, or read about, what other students say about writing at university;

  • completed the 'writing anxiety survey' to learn about yourself as a writer.
